  • Sidwell Friends Wrestling Wins 14th MAC Title

    Posted February 4

The Sidwell Wrestling Team continued a multi-year run of success with its third consecutive MAC championship and 14th championship in MAC competition. After going undefeated against MAC opponents in regular season match-ups, which assured SFS of at least a share of the Banner, Sidwell pulled out a narrow 7-point victory in the MAC Wrestling Tournament to retain sole possession of the Banner. With the score tied at 123 going into the last match of the day, Sidwell's Joey Dunn pinned his opponent from St. James to not only win an individual championship but bring home the title for SFS.

Sidwell had eight individual champions: Sam Henry Lazarus; James Shakow; Jacob Honn; Joey Dunn; Wyatt Green-Williams; Philippe Sanchez; LinDon Harris; and Nathaniel Jackson. Liam Susswein and Ana Danao-Schroder placed second and third respectively.

Congratulations to Head Coach Lou Heberer and the Sidwell Wrestling Team!
