Alumni Association

As a graduate or former student of Sidwell Friends School, you are considered a member of the Sidwell Friends School Alumni Association, at no cost to you.  Along with your membership, you receive substantial member benefits.

Member Benefits

Admissions. Alumni who are interested in applying a child to Sidwell Friends are invited to attend a special admissions night tailored to their questions and concerns. The Admissions Office makes itself available for individual meetings regarding your child’s application. For more about our admissions process, please contact Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, Erby Mitchell.

Alumni Events.  We offer three on-campus events each year: Homecoming (October), Alumni Holiday Party (December) and Reunion Weekend (May).  Our seven Regional Clubs (in Boston, Chicago, Northern California, Southern California, New York City, Seattle and Washington, D.C.) organize social and educational events throughout the year. We hope to see you at Regional Events and at Community Service Day (April)!

Athletics. Attendance is free for alumni who want to cheer on the Quakers at home games.  During school vacations, alumni are welcome to run or walk on the school’s track.  The Office of Alumni Relations also arranges Open Gym sessions for alumni, when possible.

Memorial Meeting for Worship.  When a classmate or loved one passes away, many families choose to remember that alumna/us with a memorial Meeting for Worship. Held in the Quaker tradition, these gatherings offer a unique opportunity to share heartfelt thoughts and powerful memories. The Meeting Room in the Kogod Center for the Arts is available upon request.

Permanent Email Forwarding. Permanent email forwarding allows you to keep in touch with classmates, family and friends. No matter how many times you change schools, jobs, or email providers, your correspondents will always be able to reach you at the same address, for example, yourusername@alumni.sidwell.edu. All email addressed to yourusename@alumni.sidwell.edu will be forwarded to your current address—you will never miss an email as long as you update your address with SFS. You will never again have to send out notices when you change your email address!

Publications.  The Alumni Magazine, a full-color publication, comes out three times a year.  The Magazine includes alumni news, class notes, and in-depth articles about Sidwell Friends School. On the Horizon…, a monthly e-newsletter, brings you the latest about alumni events and news from around the country. Email alumni@sidwell.edu if you are not receiving the Alumni Magazine or On the Horizon…, and we will add you to the mailing list.

Special Offers and Discounts. Alumni receive special pricing on items in the School Store during certain Alumni Events on campus.
