Sidwell Friends Certified Athletic Trainer - Shannon Fooks
Shannon Fooks started working at Sidwell Friends School in the spring of 2007 as a part-time Athletic Trainer and joined the faculty as a full-time Head Athletic Trainer in the fall of 2007. Shannon graduated from University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2000 and Shenandoah University with a Master of Science in Athletic Training in 2004. While in graduate school Shannon worked with a wide variety of college teams including football, basketball, soccer, and softball. She also had an internship at a local high school.
After graduation, she worked at NRH Regional Rehab as an exercise technician. She worked as Assistant Athletic Trainer at Holy Cross High School and as Head Athletic Trainer at Montgomery College with the basketball and baseball programs. During the summers of 2004 and 2005, Shannon worked with the Washington Freedom, DC’s semi-professional women’s soccer team. While at NRH, she also obtained her certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in 2006.
