Gentlemen. Scholars. Athletes.
These are but some of the tenets of the Sidwell Friends School lacrosse program. It is a competitive program steeped in tradition; one that prepares our student athletes for life after Sidwell. Our alumni have gone on to play at some of the country's finest academic institutions, including Amherst College, Bates College, Bowdoin College, Brown University, Colby College, Colorado College, Cornell University, Denison College, Drew University, Hamilton College, Harvard University, Haverford College, Kenyon College, LSU, McGill University (Canada), Michigan, Oberlin College, Ohio Wesleyan University, Swarthmore College, University of Pennsylvania, Wesleyan, and Yale University.
A member of the Mid-Atlantic Conference, SFS plays a highly competitive schedule. In addition to league play, SFS ventures out-of-conference to take on powers from the IAC, WCAC and other public and independent school conferences. Sidwell Friends was the 2001, 2002, 2006 and 2007 MAC conference champion and won the MAC conference tournament in 2001, 2003, 2006 and 2007.

He later joined the Sea Gulls coaching staff, helping lead the storied program to the 1991 Division III title game. Coach Ransom was the recipient of the 2001 US Lacrosse NILA Coach of the Year.
