Thank you to everyone who attended the 41st Annual Auction on Saturday, April 27. “Starry Night: A Celebration in the Countryside” was a spectacular success, grossing more than $482,341 for student financial aid!

Guests enjoyed a star-studded evening with celebrity auctioneers Leigh and Leslie Keno, well-known for their appraisals on the hit PBS show Antiques Roadshow, in the beautifully transformed Sidwell Friends Athletic Center. We were delighted to have more than 400 guests join us for the sold-out Live Auction. During the Silent Auction, BidPal devices helped us secure more bids per item than ever before. And throughout the night, guests enjoyed the incredible hors d’oeuvres, dinner, dessert, and cocktails provided by Occasions Caterers.

Alumna and D.C. Public Schools Teacher of the Year Hope Harrod ’94 introduced Fund-a-Scholar during the Live Auction, and this direct appeal for gifts to the student scholarship fund raised more than $100,000 for the second year in a row! Guests kept the greater community in mind, too. Together you donated 67.5 pounds of food to benefit local nonprofit Food and Friends. This translates into providing all meals for one client for an entire month!

We are so appreciative of our donors, underwriters, sponsors, bidders, and many volunteers. Thank you for your generous support in making this year’s auction a resounding success. See you next year!
