Thank you to everyone who supported the 42nd annual auction at Sidwell Friends that took place on Saturday, April 5. The evening was a record-breaking success, grossing more than $600,000 for student financial aid!

A world of thanks to the many donors, underwriters, ticket sponsors, volunteers, and guests, without whom, this event would not have been possible.

What is the Sidwell Friends School Auction?


The Auction is our largest fundraising event of the year and includes an Online Auction as well as a Silent Auction and a Live Auction, which occur on the same evening. The Online Auction will feature a different category each week, leading up to the Silent and Live Auction evening. The Silent Auction is a cocktail reception with hors d’oeuvres that occurs directly before the Live Auction. The Live Auction includes a seated dinner, dessert bar, and dancing after the Auction. Tickets are available for the Silent Auction or as a package for both the Silent and Live Auctions. This year’s Auction will be held on April 18, 2015.

How do I support the Sidwell Friends School Auction?


There are several ways to get involved:

  • Donate an item or provide underwriting for the event: using the auction donation contract. The deadline is February 1, 2015. Remember all donations are eligible for a tax deduction!
  • Serve on the auction committee: volunteer opportunities include donation solicitation, catalog writing, publicity, table captains and day-of event setup. These volunteer opportunities are designed to fit your schedule whether you work part-time, full-time or you are a stay-at-home parent.   • Advertise in the catalog: using the advertising agreement.
  • Attend the events and bid: all proceeds benefit student financial aid at Sidwell Friends.
