What is the Sidwell Friends School Auction?
The Auction is our largest fundraising event of the year and includes an Online Auction as well as a Silent Auction and a Live Auction, which occur on the same evening. The Online Auction will feature a different category each week, leading up to the Silent and Live Auction evening. The Silent Auction is a cocktail reception with hors d’oeuvres that occurs directly before the Live Auction. The Live Auction includes a seated dinner, dessert bar, and dancing after the Auction. Tickets are available for the Silent Auction or as a package for both the Silent and Live Auctions. This year’s Auction will be held on April 18, 2015.
How do I support the Sidwell Friends School Auction?
There are several ways to get involved:
- Donate an item or provide underwriting for the event: using the auction donation contract or simply click here to make a donation online. It’s quick and easy! The deadline is February 1, 2015. Remember all donations are eligible for a tax deduction!
- Serve on the auction committee: volunteer opportunities include donation solicitation, catalog writing, publicity, table captains and day-of event setup. These volunteer opportunities are designed to fit your schedule whether you work part-time, full-time or you are a stay-at-home parent. Contact Jessie Jacobson, Director of Special Events at firstname.lastname@example.org or 202-537-8442 to learn more.
- Advertise in the catalog: using the advertising agreement.
- Attend the events and bid: all proceeds benefit student financial aid at Sidwell Friends.
What donations are accepted?
The ideas are endless. Please find a list of donation ideas that have been successful at past SFS Auctions. Questions? Please contact Jessie Jacobson, Director of Special Events at email@example.com or 202-537-8442.
