Thank you for making the 2012 Next-to-New Sale a resounding success. We surpassed last year’s total by more than $2,000, raising $68,678.35 for financial aid! That is a remarkable amount, especially given the low prices—most items average around one dollar. The sale not only benefited SFS, but it had a huge impact on the greater D.C. area. This year we gave more than 150 bags of clothing to Martha’s Table, sent several truckloads to textile recycling, and donated leftover items to local charities such as Noah’s Ark, the National Children’s Center, A Wider Circle, and the Salvation Army.
Thank you to our donors and shoppers—we hope you found some treasures at the sale. Lastly, the sale couldn’t happen without the dedication of the many volunteers, especially the section heads, vice-chairs and co-chairs. Thank you so much for your hard work and enthusiasm. See you next year!
