 LOWER SCHOOL AFTERCARE INFORMATION

The LS Aftercare Program is open to all SFS children attending the Lower School.  The location is the Multipurpose Room on the LS campus. Aftercare is offered every school day.  Hours of operation are M/W/TH/F from 3:15 PM - 6 PM,  and Tuesdays from 2 PM - 6 PM.

All Aftercare applications should be completed using our online system. Please click the "Register Now" link above to complete the online application. Please keep in mind that the Aftercare program does fill quickly and applications submitted after July 1st cannot be guaranteed spots. Families currently receiving financial aid may apply for assistance. Please complete the online application and check the financial aid box. Questions about the online application should be directed to the Auxiliary Programs Office at 202-537-8133.

LS Aftercare Drop-In Program

LS Aftercare also offers a Drop-In Program for families with an occasional need for Aftercare.  Requests for Drop-Ins must be made at least 24 hours in advance since there is limited space available based on daily Aftercare enrollment and staff. You must receive confirmation that space is available.

PLEASE NOTE: Families must complete the online Aftercare Drop-in Program registration prior to requesting a drop-in. Click the "Register Now" link above to complete the application.

Procedure for Requesting a Drop-In:

  1. Complete the online Aftercare Drop-In Program registration. There is a one-time $25 registration fee associated with the registration. Click the "Register Now" link above to start the application. Select your student's grade, then select "After School," then select "Lower School Aftercare Drop-In program" and complete all required fields on the subsequent pages.
  2. Call Diane Everts (LS Aftercare Director) at 301-654-7777 (home) or 301-512-6160 (cell); or, email at doolan.diane@gmail.com or EvertsD@sidwell.edu to request a drop-in for a specific day. If you are not able to reach Diane please call the Auxiliary Programs Office at 202-537-8133.

Fees:

  • The fee for a Drop-In is $40 (M/W/TH/F) and $50 on Tuesdays. This fee will be charged to the credit card used to complete the online registration.
  • There is a late-fee of $6.00 for every 5 minutes after 6 PM for both Drop-In and Aftercare families. Please note cell number (301-512-6160) or the SFS Security number (202-537-8197) in case you need to contact in an emergency.
  • Please make sure you give detailed instructions to those picking up your child providing them with: Diane's telephone number (301-512-6160), the location of SFS, the location of the Aftercare Program (Multipurpose Room), and parking instructions.

LOWER SCHOOL EARLY RISERS INFORMATION

The LS Early Risers Program is open to all SFS children attending the Lower School. The location is the Quaker Library Room on the LS campus and early care is offered every school day. Hours of operation are 7:15 – 8:15 am. You can choose to attend all 5 days or select specific days to attend. Please note, if the school has a delay, the Early Risers program is cancelled for that day.

All Early Risers applications should be completed using our online system. To apply online please select "Register Now" at the top of the page.  Families currently receiving financial aid may apply for assistance; check the financial aid box when completing the online application. Questions should be directed to the Auxiliary Programs Office at 202-537-8133.

Lower School Early Risers Drop-In Program

Fees:  The fee for a Drop-In is $10/day. This fee will be charged to the credit card used to complete the online registration on a monthly basis.

2017-2018 SHUTTLE INFORMATION

Sidwell Friends contracts with an independent bus company to provide shuttle service between the Lower and Middle/Upper School campuses. All bus applications should be completed using our online system. The annual cost for ridership will be $975 for one way, and $1500 for round trip. Any questions about the shuttle bus should be directed to the Auxiliary Programs Office at 202-537-8133. Please note: The shuttle will run a modified schedule on Early Release Days. Shuttle riders will receive an email reminder of the modified schedule before the Early Release Days. Shuttle bus departure times are as follows:

SPARC CLASSES

SPARC is an acronym for Special Programs After Regular Classes. These programs include a variety of specialty classes that range from Chinese culture to Basketball, and from Drama to Chess. These workshops are offered over the course of three 8-week trimesters, in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. 

You can use the same log-in information if you have registered online for Aftercare, shuttle, or any Sidwell Summer programs. If you do not have a log-in, register as new user and complete the required information. You will only have to fill out all of the required fields once. Students must be registered using the online system in order to participate.

SPECIAL EVENTS

The Auxiliary Programs Department runs Special Events during conference days and select in-service days. Special Events will be posted in the parent newsletter throughout the school year. Register using the "Register Now" link at the top of this page.
