Interim Middle School Science Teacher

Sidwell Friends Middle School seeks an Interim 7th and 8th grade Science teacher. The successful candidate will be an experienced teacher of physical and life sciences in a middle school setting. He or she will have a clear understanding of the needs of middle school students, be able to work cooperatively with a group of adults in a team setting, be comfortable in and excited about working with children from diverse backgrounds, and actively support the Quaker philosophy that underlies the school. The prospective candidate’s teaching style should be suitable for a dynamic and interactive classroom setting, and he or she should have experience teaching science through laboratory investigations. Other duties include the planning of and participation in community service as well as subject area activities, leading an advisory group and teaching an advisory curriculum.
