Alumnus Wins Two Grammy Awards

Oteil Burbridge ’82 was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award as a member of The Allman Brothers Band at the Grammys on Sunday and also won a Grammy Award for Best Blues Album with blues rock group Tedeschi Trucks Band.

Burbridge is best known as a bass guitarist for The Allman Brothers Band. He joined the group in 1997.

In 2010, along with his brother Kofi and Allman Brothers bandmate Derek Trucks, Burbridge joined Tedeschi Trucks Band as bassist. The group’s winning album, Revelator, was released in June 2011 to critical acclaim.
