Posted: October 5, 2012

After three years of teaching in the D.C. public schools, Matthew left his job to found Live It, Learn It, a nonprofit dedicated to making sure that disadvantaged children get the chance to go on field trips that children in other, wealthier schools take for granted.

Programs are based at landmark sites from the National Zoo to government buildings and museums, places that many children in high poverty areas never have the opportunity to see.
