Important: Visitor Policy

We have conferred with our Medical Advisory Team and due to the recent uptick in positive cases, effective Wednesday, May 18, all individuals in all three divisions, including non-academic buildings, will be required to wear masks while indoors.

We have conferred with our Medical Advisory Team and effective Monday, May 9, the Upper School will return to its mask optional policy indoors for all individuals. Students and employees continue to be encouraged to mask in large, indoor gatherings, such as Meeting for Worship, collection, and assemblies.

The low number of positives reported this week is very encouraging. We have conferred with our Medical Advisory Team, and they support our return to a mask optional policy indoors for all individuals on both campuses.

We will have mandatory on-campus COVID-19 PCR testing for all students and employees on Monday and Tuesday when school resumes. We hope to have test results by mid-week. In order to mitigate any potential transmission while awaiting test results, we will require that all students, employees, and visitors wear masks while indoors during the first week after spring break until all PCR test results are in.

Upon review and consultation late last night and early this morning, we have decided to require all Upper School students, faculty, and staff to wear masks indoors throughout this week.

The Latest from the Medical Advisory Team

The School regularly consults the Medical Advisory Team to shape safety protocols, monitor COVID-related trends and research, and track various coronavirus metrics for Washington, DC and Montgomery County.  These metrics include data related to daily cases, transmission rates, and test positivity rates. Should meaningful fluctuations in this data occur, the School will seek guidance from the Medical Advisory Team and will adjust health and safety protocols accordingly.
