Health Protocols Update: Indoor Masking for Upper School

Dear Friends,

I hope this email finds you well. As you may have seen in my recent communications regarding positive cases in the School, we have seen an uptick in positive cases amongst upper school students in the past two weeks. After conferring with our Medical Advisory Team, we have decided to require masking indoors for all upper school students and employees beginning Monday, April 25, 2022. All middle school students and employees and visitors entering shared upper school spaces such as the cafeteria, the Athletic Center, and the Arts facilities will also be required to mask while in those spaces. We are also encouraging masking for lower and middle school students engaging in large indoor gatherings, such as meeting for worship, assemblies, and collection. Outdoor dining will also be encouraged.

We will continue to monitor positivity rates in the community and confer with our Medical Advisory Team to assess our health protocols. All-school surveillance testing has been scheduled for next week and the week of May 9. Depending on positivity rates, we may require masking at large indoor gatherings for families, including the rising ceremonies for 4th and 8th grade students, the 12th grade family meeting for worship, and commencement. We will keep you apprised of any changes to our health protocols at these events.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.

In health,

Edie
