Sidwell Friends guard will play for Team East on March 31

Autumn Fleary ’26 has been selected to play for Team East in the 2026 McDonald’s All-American girls’ basketball game on March 31. Held annually since 1978, the McDonald’s All-American Game is a showcase for top players from across the nation. She is one of just 24 girls chosen this year.

Fleary is the fifth Sidwell Friends girls’ basketball player in the last five years to be named a McDonalds All American, joining Kiki Rice ’22, Jadyn Donovan ’23, Kendall Dudley ’24, and Zania Socka-Nguemen ’24.

“Autumn’s success is not just about talent; it's about the relentless pursuit of excellence from a young age,” said Sidwell Friends Girls’ Basketball Head Coach Talen Watson. “She has maximized her basketball potential through dedication, hard work, and unwavering support from her village. In her senior year, Autumn has brought positive energy and enthusiasm to our team each day. I have no doubt that Autumn has a bright future ahead, filled with opportunities for success.”

After transferring to Sidwell Friends as a junior, Fleary was chosen to the Washington Post First Team All-Met Team and helped lead the Quakers to a DCSAA State Championship and ISL League Championship in 2025.

Fleary will continue her playing career at Duke in the fall.
