A joyful celebration launches the new school year.

Sidwell Friends students returned to campus this morning, welcomed in DC by the Class of ’18 with music, a courtyard decorated with multicolored streamers, and an invitation to “Ce1e8rate!” Upper Schoolers shared reunion hugs and enjoyed doughnuts for breakfast before heading into Meeting for Worship to start the year, while Middle Schoolers also exchanged lively greetings with teachers and friends as they found their way to their first classes of the year.

Lower School students on the Bethesda campus, with excited parents in tow, received the traditional back-to-school welcome: fist bumps from Interim Principal Sally Selby!
