Congratulations to Kendall '24 and Gianna '24, Winners of Nike's Game Growers!
On Wednesday, the 2019 WNBA Champions Washington Mystics announced their winners for the Nike Game Growers program, SFS's own Kendall D. ’24, and Gianna K. ’24, both from the 7/8 girls' basketball team. Nike is working with the WNBA and NBA to launch Game Growers, a program that gives eighth-grade girls the tools and resources they need to increase girls' participation in sports in their local communities. The players pitched the idea of developing an app to encourage younger girls to play basketball. The app would be called Game GrowHers. A more in depth story will be posted next week. A photo, camera and video crew came to surprise the two at their practice.
