Schedule a Virtual Student Interview and Parent Meeting
For 6th and 7th grade student and parent meetings, once you have submitted your Online Application and Parent Statement, you will receive confirmation of your assigned Virtual Applicant Interview and Parent Meeting date and time. An admissions representative will meet with the applicant for the first 20 minutes of the appointment and then there will be an opportunity for parents or guardians to speak with the admissions team member for the rest of the allotted time.
Student interviews and parent meetings for 5th and 8th grade applicants will be scheduled if space becomes available in those grades.
Submit Teacher Recommendations (Due January 15)
We require recommendations from the student’s current English teacher and math teacher. If the student applying for Middle School has one homeroom teacher who teaches both subjects, please ask that teacher to submit the recommendations for each subject separately.
We recommend sending the forms to the teachers no earlier than late November or December so they will have a chance to get to know your child before completing them.
Request Transcript (Due January 15)
Applicants to grades 5–8 should submit transcripts from the first half of the current school year and the full previous school year. Please submit the transcript release form to your child’s school authorizing it to send transcripts directly to Sidwell Friends School. We recommend that you request the transcripts in early January so that the most up-to-date grading period will be included with your child’s application.
Submit Testing
We are not accepting SSAT or ISEE testing this year. If your child took a standardized test at his or her school during the 2020-2021 school year (such as ERBs, MAP, SOL, Stanford, IOWA, CTPs, PAARC) please make sure that Sidwell Friends receives the test results as part of their school transcripts by January 15.
