How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in applying to Sidwell Friends School.

The deadline for our first round of applications has passed and the late application process is now underway. Late applications are reviewed if space becomes available after the regular admissions process ends - typically during late spring and early summer. If a space becomes available then, a member of our Admissions staff will contact applicant families about a tour and/or interview. If you would like to submit a late application, please click on the “How to Apply” button and if you have questions, please contact us!

Applications are accepted for all grades except 12th, but we only regularly review applications for Pre-K, K, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, and 9th, where openings are guaranteed. If you wish to begin the process for a grade other than those listed, the process varies slightly and you should consult our team for more information.

Sidwell Friends uses, Ravenna, a web-based application program for the admissions process. The online application includes student information, family information, and a $70 application fee for domestic applicants or a $100 application fee for international applicants. The deadline for submission of the application form and parent questionnaire (Part I) is December 16, 2019.

Student questionnaire and other supporting documents (Part II) are due by January 15, 2020. Specific documents required for each grade are listed on the application and may include the following:

  • Teacher recommendations
  • Test results (WPPSI, WISC, ISEE, SSAT)
  • Transcripts

Transcripts from current and previous school year
