How to Apply
Thank you for your interest in Sidwell Friends!
Registration for spring tours are open on Ravenna.
Our application deadline for the 2025-2026 school year was January 5.
- We do accept late applications which will be considered if space becomes available after we complete the first round of admissions.
- Fee waivers are not available for the late application process.
- You may apply for financial aid as part of the late application, but funds are limited and will be less available as we move through the spring and summer. Sidwell Friends uses Clarity to process financial aid applications.
- Visits and assessments for late applicants will be scheduled in the spring if space becomes available.
- The application for the 2026-2027 school year will be available next September.
CREATE AN ACCOUNT AND STUDENT PROFILE ON RAVENNA
Sidwell Friends School uses the web-based admissions system Ravenna to manage the application process from start to finish. Unless otherwise stated, all steps in the application process occur in Ravenna.
SUBMIT FAMILY INFORMATION FORM
Once you’ve created your account in Ravenna, we suggest you complete this form on or soon after September 1. There is a $70 fee to apply.
SUBMIT CURRENT SCHOOL RECORDS/TRANSCRIPT
Submit the transcript release form to your child’s school authorizing it to send transcripts directly to Sidwell Friends School. (Not required of preK applicants.)
REQUEST TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS
Applications require a current teacher recommendation. We recommend sending the forms to teachers no earlier than November 1 so that they will have a chance to get to know your child before completing them.
ATTEND A STUDENT GROUP VISIT & ASSESSMENT
Once you have submitted your Family Information Form (step 2), your child will be assigned to an upcoming group visit assessment. Watch your email for information on your assigned date.
