Davis Guggenheim '82, the director of “An Inconvenient Truth” and “Waiting for Superman” released a new film entitled, “He Named Me Malala.” This documentary features the life of Malala Yousafzai, a woman who was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize for her advocacy to give every girl the chance to receive an education. Davis shadowed Malala and her family for 18 months to create a film to inspire girls of the world. He stated that one of the things that struck him about is just how ordinary Malala is, and how that makes her extraordinary-ness even more extraordinary.
