Facilities
Sidwell Friends’ facilities support a broad and diverse physical education and athletics program. The highlight of the Wisconsin Avenue campus is the 71,270-square-foot, state-of-the-art David P. Pearson ’52 Athletic Center, which opened in 2010. Partially underground, the building is nonetheless filled with natural light from the glass windows that line the east-facing exterior wall. The Pearson Athletic Center has two full-size and four half-size basketball courts and plenty of seats from which to cheer on the Quakers. The building houses an indoor track, wrestling room, dance studio, athletic performance center with fitness equipment, athletic trainer’s office, and locker rooms. Learn about the building’s many green features.
The Wisconsin Avenue campus has three athletic fields. A turf field on the roof of the Pearson Athletic Center is marked for football, boys lacrosse, and soccer. A second turf field, in front of the Upper School, is marked for field hockey and girls lacrosse. A grass field in the southeast corner of campus is marked for soccer in the fall and baseball and softball in the spring.
Our Lower School campus includes a gymnasium, two playgrounds, a playing field, and outdoor courts.
Sidwell Friends' athletic facilities are available for rental.
