Big Day at League Track Championships

Sidwell Friends Boys' Track won the MAC title on Saturday, May 14. The Quakers dethroned defending champs Georgetown Day School, 167 - 127, led by four athletes who had monster days on both the track and the field: Justin Loeb '16 (scored 30 points in winning the 100M, 200M, and 400M); Dylan Greynolds '17 (1st in the 110M hurdles, 1st in the 300 hurdles, and 3rd in the triple jump); Ross Young '17 (1st in discus, 1st in high jump, 3rd in shot put); and LinDon Harris '16 (1st in shot put, second in discus). Congratulations to Coach Jorgen Kjaer and the entire team.

In the ISL championships, the SFS Girls' Track team finished 4th place in the 16 team league. A highlight of the day was the victory in the 4x800 by SFS runners Ryan Kyle '19, Ellie Leape '17, Megan Powell '16, and Ellie Zimmerman '17. Congratulations to Coach Candace Novoselnik and the entire team.

Rice Named Gatorade DC Girls Soccer Player of the Year

Kiki Rice '22 has been named the 2018-19 Gatorade District of Columbia Girls Soccer Player of the Year. Rice is the third Gatorade District of Columbia Girls Soccer Player of the Year to be chosen from Sidwell Friends School. The distinction recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field.
