Sidwell Friends

Logan West ’01, an RSPA certified elite professional coach, directs the girls and boys tennis programs. Coach West fosters a team first culture where student athletes develop self-confidence, resilience, and poise under pressure through discipline in training and competition in the arena. After his high school career, Coach West was a four-year letterman on the men's tennis team at Dartmouth College. During his coaching tenure at Sidwell, the girls varsity tennis team has won 5 Independent School League (ISL) AA Division championships (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024) and 5 DCSAA DC State Championships (2018, 2019, 2021, 2023, 2024). The team has also consistently ranked among the Top 10 High School programs in the country by Universal Tennis Rating (UTR). Sidwell Friends girls tennis alumni have gone on to compete for Brown, University of Chicago, Duke, Georgetown, Illinois, and Stanford.
