The three journalists explored the idea of freedom of the press in the age of the internet, the intersection of print and online media, and the role of the journalist in an election year.

From the host: "I recently read An American Marriage in my personal book club and found it to be a poignant read given the issues surrounding racial injustice that are resurfacing in our country. Thinking back on the intellectual discussions I had in my literature classes at Sidwell Friends, it struck me that it would be a particularly moving experience to discuss this novel among fellow SFS community members. If you have already read the book or if you are looking for a good read this summer, I invite you to pick up your copy of An American Marriage and join me along with fellow alumni and friends for a small, informal discussion."

It’s more than just geography that seems to separate our friends and neighbors in each of these communities, and as we look at the fractures and divisions in our nation, we wonder whether the health and future of this country begins with understanding some of the disconnects between urban and rural areas.
