Star the Fox’s Giant Eraser
Star the Fox is still learning about Sidwell Friends and could use a little help getting its facts straight. Can you help Star the Fox spot the mistakes and solve a puzzle? If so, make sure to visit this site every day during Homecoming Week.
From Sunday, October 11 to Saturday, October 17, Star will share three facts about Sidwell Friends School…but one will be a mistake! You will be invited to help Star find the incorrect answer and—for extra credit—provide the correct one. For instance, can you spot the mistake here:
In the 1930s…
- Sidwell Friends students had to come in on Saturdays to finish incomplete homework.
- Sidwell Friends left its old location on East Capitol Street.
- The head of school founded the Patrons Auxiliary, now called the Parents Association.
(If you guessed “Sidwell Friends left its old location on East Capitol Street,” congratulations! Bonus points if you said that the School actually vacated its former home on Eye Street.)
You can play once or every day, and for each day you play, you’ll receive clues to solve Star’s Homecoming 2020 Mega Challenge.
Stepping Through Spirit Week 10K Challenge
Coach Megan Miller is running a 10K step challenge during Homecoming Week. Can you do 10K or more steps daily? There will be a prize drawing for those who have the most 10K+ entries over the course of the week, and the person with the greatest number of steps over the course of the week will also get a special prize. Log your steps here, and snap a photo of you getting your steps in and send it to communications@sidwell.edu.
