Endowed positions are advancing the School’s commitment to equity, justice, and community—permanently.
Asian American Studies Chair
Asian American Studies is an interdisciplinary academic field focused on the study of the diverse histories and cultures of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. Establishing this chair will enable us to recruit a highly qualified educator who can ensure that students in each division will have new opportunities to study and understand more deeply the central role that Asian Americans have played in shaping the history of our nation.
Join us in helping fully endow this position, which is an important pillar of the School’s Strategic Action Plan for Equity, Justice, and Community. Through this work, we will help our students see the world from new perspectives that will inspire fresh thinking and greater cultural awareness.
Every gift matters, and yours will move us closer to reaching this historic milestone. Together, we can meet our goal and begin the search for an inaugural chair holder.
The creation of the Asian American Studies Chair is not only an acknowledgment of Asian American contributions to American history but also a step toward integrating our story into our children’s education. It is important for our children to know the history of Asian American struggles which are unique by ethnicity but united by challenges.”
